Time for your very first artist profile here on Reality Ink. This one focusing in on one of the new members of the L.A. Ink
team, Kim Saigh. Kim is already a widely known artist in tattoo circles, as most that are hired for a show like this are. Here are some facts about Kim you may or may not already know
- Kim is a fanatical yoga practitioner
- Kim has been tattooing professionally for 16 year, and got started in her hometown of Cleveland, OH.
- Kim opened her first shop in Chicago called Cherry Bomb Tattoo.
Here are a few quotes from a recent interview……
What is your favorite tattoo on your body and what does it symbolize?
My sleeve on my right arm because I got it early on in my career. I got to watch Guy do the tattoo which was really inspiring to see because he was the person that made me want to tattoo and be a better artist.
What were your first thoughts when TLC approached you about being on LA INK?
My heart fell in my stomach and I knew that I was supposed to do this. I don’t know why, but I’ve had the same feeling before when certain opportunities have presented themselves. I’m just trying to roll with it and not expect too much, but enjoy the ride and see where it takes me.

I was just introduced to Kim thru the show LA INK I have been looking for the next artist to do my 4th tattoo. I want a rose on my left shoulder, but never found the perfect picture. Until I saw her tattoo. Is there a way to contact her? I need to know where she got the picture it’s just what I want. I’m a Colon Hydro Therapist and think her vibe and energy is perfect for what I’m looking for in an artist.
kim does the most beautiful tattoos….i want her to do my next tattoo she does them so beautiful
I am alos trying to find the picture of the rose on Kim’s shoulder. I am looking to do a cover-up on the back of my calf and this is PERFECT.
Kim does the best tattoos, she is serious about his work, and she the most beautifull girl in whole world.
thnx to LA ink i got to see her.
I think Kim is by far the best artist i’ve seen not to mention she is easy on the eyes!
These reality shows about tattooing are a discredit to the entire industry. There is no doubt that all the artists on LA ink are highly talented, yet there are hundreds of other artists across the county just as talented and far more approachable, just attend a convention or two and see. These shows simply sanitize and package our incredible artform for easy digestion by a fast food driven world. I blame the artists on the shows as well for grasping at their 15 minutes of fame, they feed into this irrational need to mainstream everything. Tattoos are a rite of passage, a personal statement of freedom and individuality, and not at all meant to be fodder for a greedy, couch potato nation.
Don’t look to some “realty TV star” for your inspiration, look to yourself for what drives you and the art you want representing the journey you are making in life.
And a last bit of advice, if perchance you happen to find yourself talking to an artist about getting a tattoo, don’t try ripping off the art that they have already done or have on them, that realy pisses us off.
get over yourself, matt. simply because a handful of tattoist were able to get a show doesn’t mean they’re only there for fame. these shows allow the general public to understand that it’s an acceptable act of getting a tattoo. and don’t present yourself as some kind of underground purist. cuz if YOU were approached to be part of a similar show you’d clearly jump at the opportunity to get more exposure, gain recognition and earn extra money. you’re not fooling anyone, dude.
Firstly, of course they are only there for the fame, what other possible reason? Oh yeah, money and fame.
I am an above ground purist, I own and operate my own studio and firmly believe in what I say, why does the public need to understand that getting a tattoo is ok? Do you think they are stupid and can’t make up their minds for themselves without a tv program granting permission? Tattoos being taboo is the fundamental reason for it being a rite of passage! The fear and excitement, the adrenaline rush of walking into a shop to get that taste of the needle, the first time the liner cuts the skin, that is what tattooing is about! Not pink walls, skateboard ramps, and self congratulation!
Do you even realize that the artists that are on the show aren’t even the regular shop artists and that they only go to the place for a few months to film and go back to their respective shops?
“I’m is currently unable to take any new clients or projects due to the filming of L.A. Ink, but will be returning to Chicago this September so please feel free to contact me after that time.”
Hannah Aitchinson quoted from her website
I am all for an artist getting ahead in his/her field and like I have said all the artists on the show are extremely talented, it is the concept of the show and it’s execution I am opposed to.
And tattooist is with two o’s by the way.
I feel that Kim has the gift of art and has taken it to the next level by doing tattoos. I have to say I cant wait to see the next episode to see what masterpiece she is going to create next. All the members on the show are incredibly talented, but there is something about kim’s work that strike me different. She puts a little piece of herself in every piece she creates. Being a tattoo enthusiast myself, I can appreciat that type of commitment and deeply respect that talent.
Kim, you are without a doubt an incredible person at what you do and I hope some day I will have the chance for you to leave a little piece of yourself on my body.
I had been trying to decide who to go to for my next tattoo, when I saw Kim and her amazing work on the show. I live in Chicago and would love to know if she is back in town and if so, how does one go about getting in to see her? Can anyone help me?
I too love Kim’s rose tattoo and would love to get that to cover up one on my arm. Anyone have any luck finding that picture. Does anyone know if Kim cam be contacted? I
To get mad at anybody in this profession for doing it on TV is just wrong. Whatever. It’s not like their work is suffering from it. If somebody said they’d put a camera on me and probably pay me to do it while I do what I already do, I wouldn’t give a crap. Why would anybody care? This is the same crap logic I’ve been battling with in punk rock for forever. People are all “oh, they sold out”….whatever. Nobody sold out unless they change their entire style or system of doing anything against their will for the money. If they are still doing what they want to do and getting paid for letting somebody film it then great! You’d be really stupid not to do that. If somebody told them to stop doing great tattoos and start riding ferris wheels for a living or walking dogs at a dog show or do some other random crap for a bunch of cash, that would be selling out. Not getting paid more to rule at what you already do the way you do it. Thats called E-X-P-A-N-D-I-N-G.

I am looking for a tattoo picture..It was on the show earlier this week..a chick came in and got the back of her leg done…it was a unusal flower…it took up most of the back of her leg…it was colorful…does anyone know what I am talking about or have a picture?
THanks!
If I’m remembering correctly Kim’s client who got the flower on her leg got a bitersweat flower. I’m not 100% positive on that, but I think that’s what it was.
kim saigh is hot
Kim is a very disciplined artist and does excellent work. She adds much to the show and I can never wait for her to do her next piece. In her picture, dressed up in the blue dress, with the 1940’s hair style, she just can’t get any hotter. She is gorgeous and talented. WOW
i received one of kim’s first tattoos in a small surburban cleveland basement. being my first tattoo and having utmost faith in her art ability i let her do her majic… this was in 1991 and the tatoo still looks like it did the day she did it. i ‘ve received several tattoos from several artists all of very high reccommendation, but kim still in my eyes and skin is the most professional and coolest tattoo artist alive… thank you kim

PAAAAALEEEEASE help me find a good picture of Kim’s rose tattoo!
I have a tattoo from Kim, got it in Chicago based on her reputation. She was an art student all through high school and the work she has hanging in her shop is gorgeous. She is very grounded. I am so happy for her that she is doing the show.
I am looking for a photo of the bittersweet flower tattoo that Kim did for a Client. They showed in briefly on one of the first episodes of LA Ink.
I have been looking for other ideas but nothing has sparked me like that one.
It has a meaning behind it for me. Please and thank you so much.
I was looking for a piece I just saw on L.A. Ink that Kim did, it was a mans right arm, a floral sleeve representing all the women in his life. I cant seem to find a picture of it, has anyone seen it?
I am also looking for a picture of the floral sleeve so if you do find it let me know

There is going to be a tattoo convention in Montreal this next weekend (Sept. 13-14) and Kim Saigh is on the guest list. Will she be doing tattoos while at the convention? If so, is there any way to make an appointment? She is such a talented artist, and I would love for her to do an inspirational tattoo in honor of my grandmother. Please let me know. Thanks!!
Warm regards,
Alycia
I recently attended a Tattoo convention in Montreal, Quebec with my husband and for the first time our children (Erika age 11yrs(birthday was the day of the convention and Jaylon age 7). We had an amazing time, the kids got to see first hand what a Tattoo convention is all about and see remarkable people both tattooing and getting tattoos. Erika was most excited to see Kim from LA ink, she loves watching the show (every episode) and could not contain herself when she knew she could possible get to meet her) Well, her wish came true, not only did she get to meet her and get her autograph Kim actually took the time and spoke with all of us, wished Erika a happy birthday and took a picture with her. (I know this autographed sticker and many more posters will fill our daughters wall to show off to all her friends and what a memory she will have to tell all the years of her life) Thanks Kim.
P.S. I was hoping to have a tattoo done by Kim at this convention but unfortunely did not get the pleasure…I would one day perhaps at another convention love to get a tattoo by her…this would mean so much since it is a extra special tattoo for my Niece Brianna who at the age of 15yrs was diagnosed with Leuikema in Jan 2008 and lost her battle and left us on July 5th 2008, Brianna was a remarkable young lady and is sadly missed and loved by all who knew her.R.I.P Brianna (Utube - Brianna Merritt)
Kim i think you are the best artist on the show. Have you ever done any nudes. You are so hot. Jpt
