In what appears to be nothing more than a cash grab, Kat Von D recently sold the photobooth from the shop at High Voltage Hollywood. Yes, it is indeed the same photobooth that is not only used in the show’s entry, but also that is seen in many of the episodes in season 1.
From the auction…..
You are bidding on Kat Von D’s very own photobooth as seen on her tv show LA Ink and on location at her tattoo shop in Hollywood, CA High Voltage Tattoo. Dimensions: 28″ deep x 77″ tall x 74″ wide Age: 1989 Model: 21T for Indoor use only; 120 volts; 60 cycle; 11 amps, Serial# 13338. Prints out 4 photos in one strip, black & white. Comes with a bill acceptor & an autographed photos of Kat along with High Voltage Sticker. Buyer to arrange for pickup…weight: really really heavy.
The booth went for over 5 thousand bucks to an ebay user named “chulalatina” and was sold by a user going by “homestarrunnergirl.” We are pretty sure that this is not Kat herself, but rather a cronie of some sort collect the dough. So, since the Pixie surgery episode, where the shop raised over 7k for her, I wonder who needed to go under the knife for the photobooth “sacrifice?”
Comments
Maybe they are remodeling the shop before season 2, since there were so many negative comments about the pink wall color, and the booth had to go, too.
I don’t really care for the shop design but I do love the art work done by the artists, and that’s the ONLY reason I watch. Corey is an absolute master, and I am growing in admiration for Hannah’s work, too.
Congrats to the buyer/seller of the photobooth!!! By the way, I also like the artwork (photos) and stories of Man Ray, Euggène Atget, etc.; There is a lot of good information about different types of artists from the past. And, “Miami Inkâ€, “LA Ink†and “London Ink†feature groups of modern and talented/skilled artists as well as their outstanding contemporary ‘tats’. (I got the chance to see some “London Ink†on YouTube.) And, I think it’s remarkable that there was a “High Voltage†photobooth in Kat Von D’s Tattoo Shop. I guess the booth was all about ‘Hollywood/Rock &Roll’.
