Trying to catch up a bit here with London Ink. Today we have Episode 4 (of 6) to focus in on. The London crew starts things off as Louis takes on a piece for Sophie in the first segment which will be a part of her burlesque act. The piece is done on both of her calves and it really turns out amazing. As annoying and hard to watch as Louis can be, he is an impressive artist.

The shop wild card, Dan Gold, tattoos his friend and former apprentice Tom for a stained glass piece. They get along great and have alot of fun together, which of course pisses Louis off to no end. I swear Louis feels like he is babysitting this crew of artists most of the time. It comes off pretty harshly and I am actually surprised at how much Dan takes from him.

Part 1

The next part of the episode shows Phil consulting with David, a American businessman who wants his first tattoo to be a horrible looking anchor. I mean horrid. Phil fights him on it quite a bit, as he should have, and draws a far superior piece up for him, which David rejects. Dan also gets some stained glass inspiration and finally begins on Toms back piece.

Part 2

In part 3, Dan works on the stained glass piece and finds that his client and his pain tolerance are not quite there, so this will be a two sitter after all. In the end though, I am a bit underwhelmed by this piece and Dan in general, how did he make it onto this show? Rumor is that this is actually Dan’s shop, can anyone confirm?

Also, Phil does the anchor piece, much to the chagrin of….well everyone.

Part 3

Part 4 has Nicole doing a piece, and its about time. She does a really great Koi Fish arm piece for this guy Gramae. It is a rather traditional Japanese design, and is right up Nicole’s alley and she nails it. We need to see more of her and less of Dan Gold. Speaking of Dan, he has some trouble with a native american back piece in this segment and eventually figures it out. Louis also has another go with Polo Mint John and his sleeve, which is turning out to be kick ass.

Part 4

Part 5 sees Phil getting a much better client that lets him have some free reign with a series of designs for his side rib area. Dan finishes the native american back piece, and does a good job on actually. Louis shows off a bit (shocking) when describing the sleeve work he has finished as well.
