Kat Gives Out The L.A. Ink FAQ

Kat Von D has recently posted a list of items on her Myspace page to help out those that have questions regarding L.A. Ink.highvoltage.jpg I thought I would post them here after the comments got crazy out of control on this post regarding making an appointment.

*IS IT “HIGH VOLTAGE TATTOO” OR “LA INK”?
The name of the tattoo shop is High Voltage , but for filming purposes the shop is going to be called “LA Ink”. LA Ink, is mainly being used as the name of the show, but when we’re not filming, the shop will be rocking High Voltage .

*HOW CAN I GET TATTOOED ON/OFF CAMERA ?
To get tattooed on the new show, LA Ink, go to:

We have minimal control over who gets on the show.

To get tattooed off camera its mainly on walk-in basis, first come first served. Aside from that you can make appointments with certain artists by persoanlly emailing them through their websites listed above. Every artist is responsible for doing their own schedule, so some sytems may be different.

*WHEN IS LA INK ON?
LA Ink is on TUESDAYS, 10pm, on TLC.

*WHAT ARTIST DO YOU RECOMMEND IF I’M NOT ABLE TO GET OUT TO LA?
if you go to www.katvond.net, or www.highvoltagetattoo.com, and check out the links you will find a list of tattooers that we recommend, world wide. If youre in the LA area, you can ALWAYS go to Clay Decker’s True Tattoo, (our sister-shop).

*CAN YOU GUYS DRAW ME A TATTOO DESIGN ON COMMISSION?
No. Due to our busy filming schedule, we are not able to accomodate people for drawings for personal use. If you wanna get a design tattooed by someone else, have your artist draw it up for you. We assure youll be happier with that outcome.
We only draw tattoo designs for our clients who are getting them tattooed, and never reproduce the same tattoo.

*IS IT TRUE YOU GUYS TATTOO “insert musician/celebrity name here” ?
Our list of musicians/celebs is a pretty long one so here goes one off the top of our heads:

*HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO GET TATTOOED?
We can can’t give a set price over the phone or via email, without getting a complete description of the tattoo and without drawing out your tattoo. A price range can be given to you once you speak with your artist.
We always believe in being fair when it comes to pricing, and do not over charge becasue of the show. But we strongly believe that qulaity always comes before quantity. the old saying is true, “you get what you pay for”, and for something thats on your body for the rest of your life, its important that you seek out the best artist for the job, whether you choose us or someone in your area.

*WHAT TATTOOS WILL HIGH VOLTAGE NOT DO?
We will absolutely NOT tattoo the following:
*no one under the age of 18 (california state law)
*no Pregnant women
*Nothing racist
*No face tattoos, unless youre a tattooer
*No one with a shitty attitude :)

    Uh huh, that’s why at least HALF of the “clients” on the show are friends of hers….
