Miami Ink New Orleans Special Tonight!

We are getting close to the end of new Miami Ink episodes and tonight looks like one you darren.jpgshould not miss.  The gang heads north to New Orleans to take in the city and has loads of fun in the process.  Here are the official show notes from TLC.

The crew hits Post-Katrina New Orleans to spend some tourist dollars in the cash-strapped city, and do a guest artist stint at their friend’s tattoo shop, Eye Candy. While in town they chow down on crawfish and share a few thrills at their haunted hotel.

Also tonight, tune in as jazz bandleader Irvin Mayfield is among those who get inked up, and this one is his first!  Some more info on that here.

Be sure to tune in to TLC tonight at 10pm ET, not many new ones left!

    I have an interest in Jazz; A few times, I have listened to the Smithsonian Collection of Classic Jazz, etc.. Anyways… It’s nice to see the entire crew (1) in a different setting and (2) being somewhat sociopolitical(???). It’s been about 2-3 years since hurricane Katrina hit and it looks like sections of the city are still in bad shape. It also seems like it is easier for the crew to collaborate on a tattoo than to collaborate on painting a picture.(LOL)
    Portrait tattoos or very realistic looking tattoos are popular. Not all of the tattooers at “Miami Ink” have inked portrait tattoos e.g. Garver, Tim, Ami have done portraits on the show. Some people say a portrait captures a person better than a photograph. I like portrait tattoos, photographs, paintings, sculptures, etc.. Tattoos that are an impression or an interpretation of object, concept, etc. are also nice. The TLC website for TV shows/schedules does not list any MI episodes; But, there is still some MI info/photos at the website. During last week’s episode(4.85), there was a brief recap of some highlights from season 4; And, at the end Ami said, ‘Change is on the horizon—No telling what the future holds at Miami Ink’.
